68 FINANCE MONTHLY M&A AWARDS 2019 ABOUT BRUNO GRANGIER Bruno Grangier is a European corporate lawyer, based in China since 2004. He created the corporate law firm Leaf in 2012. Bruno Grangier is registered at the Paris Bar as well as in China as a foreign-registered lawyer. He studied in France and graduated from Hong Kong City University with an LLM degree in Chinese Law. He has worked for major international law firms in Shanghai, Hong Kong and Paris. After working as a lawyer in a Paris-based law firm dedicated to private equity-related transactions, he moved to China in 2004 where he first specialized in M&A. He mainly worked with large corporations and multinationals (automotive, chemical industry, retail, luxury brands...) helping them to develop their operations in China and Asia through greenfield investments or M&A transactions. Bruno Grangier then developed a varied portfolio of clients for his own firm, ranging from multinationals to private entrepreneurs starting their own businesses. China is now a dynamic market for expanding businesses, new technology start-ups and raising funds. He founded Leaf to assist foreign companies to successfully penetrate the Chinese market and complete their projects being a bridge between Europe and Asia. LeafhasassistedGLeventstoacquire 55% of CIEC Union, a company operating several famous exhibitions related to the construction business. China International Exhibition Center Group (CIEC), a state controlled subsidiary of CCPIT, will remain the partner of GL events and the managers in this sino-foreign joint venture. Leaf has assisted GL events in their Chinese transactions in collaboration with the team of GL events for the legal due diligence, the structuring, the negotiations and the drafting of transaction documentation. As an integrated Group operating in all event professions, GL events works in three major segments: event organization, event venue management and services for fairs, congresses and events. GL Events has announced 2018 consolidated revenues topping €1bn.
